Limited editions, hand drawn and architectural landmarks – that’s all the words you really need to describe the new breath of tights by Laurie Nouchka. When I first saw these online (I think I spotted them on Instagram) as a self-confessed tights addict, I simply had to have them. A few clicks and emails later I was having a cuppa with Laurie and talking all things art and tights.
A Suffolk-born, now London-living Laurie is massively talented artist who has exhibited in London, Barcelona and New York and her work can be found in both private and public collections.
However and fortunatelly, one day Laurie decided to not only create her art but also wear it and so she printed one of her designs onto fabric and created her first leggings. These were obviously a hit amongst her friends who immediately started to bombard her with tights requests… and the rest is history.
Two years on and Laurie’s just had her first Press launch (a blog post about it coming soon) where she’s introduced her London collection of uniquely designed sports wear – leggings, crop tops and swimwear all used as canvases illustrating the London’s most iconic building such as The Shard, St Paul’s, Bishopsgate and the Battersea Power Station.
Her brand mixes art, style and healthy living;
“I create art: that you wear” as Laurie puts it.
The Shard Leggings by Laurie Nouchka – ‘Legs On’ Review
I’m a proud owner and wear-er of The Shard leggings which are amazingly soft and stretchy. A high-waisted pair of leggings is exactly what I like to wear for my yoga classes or just for casual days out in London. They do go with everything, trust me on this one!
