New Adventure Jacket, Virtual Running Coach and Mountain Festival

Here is my dose of  TOP FINDS, a list of what I’m enjoying or pondering at the moment featuring new jacket for your next adventure, a virtual coach who will help you run right, a must-go-to mountain festival and more!

New North Face Thermoball Jacket

Last week I headed to a secret outdoor film screening to celebrate the reveal of The North Face latest winter jacket – Thermoball Plus Hoodie. And since that evening I have been wearing it everyday. It’s a mid-weight jacket perfect for the fall and winter seasons; it will keep you nice and warm on your next adventure. This hoodie is on my Nepal kit list – it might be too warm for the running part but it will be my friend during the hiking bits and in the evenings.

SHFT Virtual Running Coach

I’ve been given the opportunity to test a ‘digital running coach’ called SHFT. It has only just come to the UK market, and is set to be the next big jump in wearable tech for runners. Paul and I have tested it on two runs so far. First impressions? A very interesting thing, indeed! The whole session is guided by a voice in your ear who gives you a live feedback on your running – ‘Pick up the pace’, ‘decrease the time on your feet’, ‘you can rest now’.

SHFT - Digital Running Coach Review

After each run you can check your stats in the app and this is where it gets interesting. Lots of info about your heel strike, time spent on the ground, the tilt of your body and so much more… #DataOverload (A full review coming soon).

ProWater

Water + Protein = Protein Water or ProWater. Although I prefer getting my protein from normal food ( #MilkLover ) – I was intrigued to test this new kid on the block. It’s a high protein, low calorie water drink, aimed at health conscious consumers looking for quality protein on the go.

What’s in it?

  • It has 20g of high quality protein and only 90 kcal per 500ml bottle
  • It contains no sugar, carbs, fat or caffeine.
  • Three flavours, Blueberry, Red Berries and Citrus Mint available in Superdrug nationwide and will soon be stocked in TK Maxx.

So if you don’t like milk and/or protein powders this might be a solution for you. Try it and you will see but I think I’ll stick to my full fat milk.

Kendal Mountain Festival

I’m so sad I can’t go to Kendal Mountain Festival this year. I have a good reason tho – I’m off to Nepal for my next big adventure. But you should go. This amazing festival will be jam packed with exhibitions from top brands and equipment manufacturers, specialist sessions with inspirational speakers, participants of the annual Adidas trail run, workshops and competitions including the renown International Film Competition… safe to say there will be something for every outdoor enthusiast! If you love outdoors, you simply must go!
