Health & Fitness Have To Be Worked At With Careful Choices

There is no doubt that the older woman needs to keep on top of her carb intake more carefully than most of them consider.  Going out with a social group, it’s facinating to watch the meal choices arrive and hear the lame sxcuses for the mass of bread products, or pizza with big piles of chunky chips . . . . all the while, those tucking in loudly proclaiming they hardly eat anything at all at home!   This was witnessed only this week in fact, at a monthy group lunch of about twenty similarly aged dames.  Of this number only 5 were quite definitely of the slender, still sporty and careful set.  The others were most definitely of the amply upholstered brigade who profess to not eat that much . . . and bemoan the fact that the skinnier models amongst them never had to worry.  The opposite of course is true.  The skinnier set do worry and take great pains to choose wisely in all matters concerning food and nourishment in general.  We are rarely tempted by the free cinammon buns offer greeting our entry to the local supermarket and we select the salad option to go with the mains.  We are tempted by the sweet treats, like everyone else, but we have inbuilt discipline to say no.   This self sacrifice means some of us are able to indulge in a slightly heavier carb and calorie fest occasionally exactly bcause we take care the rest of the month.
