I have been following a fairly loosely based lower carbohydrate regime for a couple of years now. Some weeks are more succesful than others and my mind is less distracted by the very things I have been trying to avoid. My self discipline is appallingly bad so I do struggle to stay on track but when I concentrate and get into the proper rythm of the exercise, it is great, I feel really well and my limbs don’t hurt at all. So I know that if I eat a lot of carbs, especially if I binge out on normal high gluten filled bread, toasted or otherwise, my joints are more painful. This could be something gluten based, but it could also be just that when I weaken and eat toast for speed, I’m also lazily not doing the required amount of exercise and walking, these things are all associated. I also have phases when I want boiled sweets and being a gluttonous sweet eater when given the chance, I cannot ever just eat one or two and leave the packet alone. In fact it justnags at me and I polish off the lot every time. In fact I have been known to indulge so much that I’ve had glucose inbalance, needing anti biotics when it causes an infection. I will learn to curb these excesses.
